Deferral of Studies

At BPP Institute, we understand that sometimes life takes unexpected turns. Whether due to illness, personal obligations, or not meeting initial entry requirements, you might need to postpone your studies. That’s where our Deferral of Studies policy comes in. It outlines what qualifies as a valid reason to defer, how to apply, and what documentation you’ll need. Read on to be clear about your options so you can plan with confidence.

What Circumstances Qualify for Deferral

You may request a deferral if you’re facing compelling or compassionate circumstances. Examples include: serious illness (yours or a close family member’s), the passing of an immediate relative, or major personal events like marriage. Additionally, deferral may also be granted if you have not met the entry requirements for your intended program. Whatever the reason, full supporting evidence is required with your application.

How to Apply

To defer your studies, submit a written application using the Enrolment Variation Request Form. Be sure to include all relevant documentation that supports your situation (medical certificates, death notices, etc.). Reach out to our Admissions team via email for guidance — they’ll help you through the process and ensure your application is complete for consideration under our policies.

Relevant Policies & Procedures

All deferral requests are subject to the terms outlined in our Deferring, Suspending or Cancelling International Students’ Enrolment Policy and the accompanying Procedure. These documents explain the decision-making process, timelines, and any implications for fees or course standing. For details on refund or tuition changes, consult our Fees, Charges and Refund Policy to fully understand your rights and obligations.
